Schedules have been crazy since we got back from vacation. First was the kitchen renovation, and Monica started work at three instead of eight, then Peter started working nights and days, so things have been crazy. There were a couple days this week where there was at least one person in our house sleeping for 22 1/2 hours a day. Most of the time I just got bitter and jealous that it wasn't me. Hopefully they'll get better soon.
Today Monica was going to ask Brita if she wanted to go get the mail with her, so she said, "Remember what we used to do always do but haven't done in a really long time?" Brita said, "Cook."
So true.
Last Saturday when we were on our way to Sweet Tomatoes (an all you can eat soup and salad) it was kind of late for dinner and Brita was kind of hungry, so I was giving her shredded wheat in the car. She kept asking for more and more. I asked her what she would do when we got to the restaurant and she was already full. She said, "Eat!"
It's true that girl just eats and eats.
One day I got tired of her closing the bedroom door, knocking on it, and waiting for me to open it, so I was holding it open by sticking my feet in the way. She figured out what was going on and I thought she would just try to move my feet. I was prepared for battle, and I was pretty sure I was stronger than her. She walked up to my feet pulling the door behind her and said, "Excuse me." I moved my feet. I'm such a sucker for that little girl.
The night after my ultrasound Brita fell asleep holding a picture of the baby. So cute.
The night Scott and Katrina left Brita fell asleep clutching her popper toy. And today for her nap she fell asleep clutching a picture of Peter's family. It gets less cute when there is hysterical crying involved.
Today Peter, Brita and I were praying before lunch and Brita was playing with her spoon and generally not paying attention to the prayer. (She was a little concerned with whose day it was.) After the prayer Peter said, "Well someone wasn't folding their arms during the prayer." Brita said, "Aunt Monica?"
It was even funnier because Brita had caught Monica not folding her arms once and made a big deal out of it.
