Conversations in the morning

Brita: What are you thinking, Mom?
Me: I think that I love you.
Brita: I think that I love my shoes.

Me: You're a pretty neat girl, Brita.
Brita: You're a pretty neat girl, too, Mom.

Benton

Benton has started sticking out his tongue when he smiles. It's so cute. He is also really ticklish.

Four years

Four years ago today was the first time Peter e-mailed me. He told me he ate a lemon starburst for breakfast.
True love right there.
And our eating habits haven't gotten substantially better.

Fluorescent Yellow Food Day

FYFD is tomorrow! I'm not sure everywhere it's going to be celebrated, but we're going to have a grand party here. (Assuming people come, which is kind of a big assumption at this point.) You should come to my party or have one of your own if you're not close enough to go to one. I know there are parties in Idaho, Utah, Illinois and Ohio. Not sure about TX, SD, NC, Bulgaria, Australia, Belarus, or Ukraine. Celebrate, people, celebrate!

If you'd like to come to my party and need details let me know. It's a party.

Oh, and I went FYFD shopping today and I forgot the Mac and Cheese. Who does that?

I want to see the chickens

Today during the Sacrament Brita was standing up on the bench facing backward. I told her to turn around and face the front. She said, "No, Mom, I want to see the chickens!" It took me a minute to realize she meant deacons.

Dinner conversation

Brita: I'm two years old.
Me: Yep, you're two years old.
Brita: I'm growed up. Like Jesus.
Me: Yep, Jesus was born and then he grew up.
Brita: And Joseph Smith. He was born and he grew up.

C is for cookie

We had an amazing RS activity the other night. We meet in the kitchen at church and decorated cookies. We had way more people come than we expected and it was awesome. Both sides of the counter we were working on were lined with people and we ended up decorating close to 200 cookies. That's when it starts to get good. When we got done decorating we packaged up the cookies and people started talking about all the people that they wanted to take cookies to. The sisters in my ward are amazing. They have so much love and want to show it. I had a list of people who hadn't been visited in the last five months or so and when people saw the list they started naming people they knew and wanted to take cookies to. Then they took off in groups and delivered them. We ended up taking cookies to more than 25 families. The person who was in charge and I went together after we cleaned up and visited three families. I met someone I had never met before. I found out that there was another homeschooling mom in the ward. And I was able to give cookies to someone who made me feel so very welcome in the ward and I've been meaning to visit for a while now. All in all a great activity. Go us.

Life

I hate the days when I feel all panicky and feel like life is just spinning really fast around me.

Just so you know.
