Assassin needed

There has been a red wasp-looking thing crawling around my front window for the last couple of hours. Does anyone want to come kill it for me? I tried once, but Brita's having a pretty hard day and she wasn't so keen on being put down. Now I'm holding her while she's sleeping, and there's no way I'm killing an ugly insect while holding and feeding a sleeping baby.

Please come and kill my bug.

An exercise in self control..

Peter and I have been reading the Mrs. Pollifax books out loud together. Mom read them to my siblings and I when we were little so I kind of remember them, but not really. They are pretty exciting. And I always want to get to the end to find out what happens.

Unfortunately it takes a long time to read out loud, so it always takes a few days to read them. So we start one and then Peter goes to work. And I'm home alone with the book. A book I could read pretty quickly. But I don't. I could just pretend to be surprised even though I knew what was happening. But I don't read it, because we're reading it together. Usually I try not to look at the book so I'm not tempted.

I told Peter last night that I was tempted to read the book while he was gone. The next morning I realized he had tried to hide the book.

Of course it was the first thing I saw when I went into the kitchen, but kudos for trying.

Dinner

I'd like to thank my Mom and Dad for dinner last night. It was so good and it was almost all from their garden. So yummy. We had chicken broccoli stuff with tarragon, basil, and garlic over red potatoes. Usually Peter's creations turn out better than mine, but I did this one and it was amazingly good. Just so you know.

Happy stay-incredibly-late-at-work day!

I'd post some pictures of Brita from this joyous day, but I don't know where the card reader is. So here's some from when Mom and Dad McNabb were here.

Sears

I'm on the phone with Sears again. We got a freezer about two weeks ago. The first one had a big ding in it coming out of the box. The second one got all kinds of scratched up while they were delivering it. They sent the second delivery guys the third time, so they were better, but still really incompetent, and the third one just got paint scratched off and three little dings. Now they are asking me if I want them to deliver it to me a fourth time. I somehow don't think anything will change.

In other news, I still haven't found the power cord for my camera, so no pictures of the house. I should say the power cord hasn't found me, since I haven't looked for it very hard. Some day I'll find it and you can see my beautiful house.

So much to post about, so little time with two hands

Well, since I last posted quite a bit has happened.

We bought a house. The house probably deserves its own post with pictures. We'll see if I find the cord to my camera today.

We moved from our old apartment. That involved friends helping me watch Brita, helping me clean, and giving me boxes. I also stole a lot of boxes from Smiths. I also left some stuff in the apartment, went through a lot of hassle with my managers and eventually got it out. Then I found out that I had left other stuff in my apartment and am still trying to get that out.

Peter's parents came to visit. They cleaned our house and helped us out a bunch more.

We went to our new ward. They're really friendly. I've been introduced to a ton of people that I have no idea what their names are. They also let us in on the secret of where choir is held, so we went to that too. It was fun. I went to enrichment last night, too. We tied quilts with no batting. Our quilt was finished before the other quilt was finished. Just so you know.

Dani and Todd came to visit. That was fun. And we're famous because there's a whole blog post dedicated to us on Dani's blog. Yeah for being famous. :)

Oh--and Brita. She's crawling, talking, eating all sorts of things, entertaining herself more, pulling herself up on everything, and walking while holding on to our hands.

See what happens when we don't have internet for a little over a week? All sorts of exciting things happen.
