Things I love about Brita

Today Brita and I were playing catch. We were rolling the spiky ball back and forth and she was totally into it, laughing and screeching. I rolled the ball to her and giggling she looked down to get the ball, saw the strings on her pants and was suddenly enthralled with them. They were her main concern for about 45 seconds and then she was back to playing ball. She's so funny.

We were in the bedroom and we heard the clock go off. I told her to go look at it, because she loves the clock. She went to where she could see the clock, grinned at me, and then started dancing to the music. She loves to dance.

She has bitten up our entire eraser collection.

She wants to eat constantly. She's always begging at the fridge for something in there. It's kind of frustrating, actually, because lately she won't eat everything, but she still wants everything. She's so cute, though.

And people say I never finish anything..

It only took me two months. That's not bad.

Happy Valentine's Day

Talking about Valentine's Day..
Monica: "After all, it's all about love, isn't it?"
Brita (considering): "No"

We had a good Valentine's Day. Invited people to our FYFD party.. went to Quiznos.. read books. We did watch the oh-so-romantic movie Good News. And decorated cupcakes.

Valentine's package

Brita got a Valentine's package from her Grandma. She loved it. The first thing she saw was a shirt. She carried it around for a good long while. She kept showing it to me, too.

Then I was in the computer room and I heard her walking down the hall laughing. She came in carrying two boxes of Mint Meltaways. Apparently she thought that was the funniest thing ever.

The next morning the first thing she went for was the red and white polka dot shirt. So eventually I put it on her. When I did she clapped.

I think the box was a hit.

In sadder news..

Check out this poor ice cream. It came this way. We had another one that was about 3/4 of an inch short, too. Tragedy.

I've had a birthday, shout hurray

A while ago it was my birthday. It was great.

Peter made me a cake. It's a flower, complete with cabbage leaves.

Found

We finally found Brita's doll that she got for Christmas. She likes it. She also gives things hugs when we ask her to, for the most part.

Books

Brita loves books. And looks cute in polka dots.

In other exciting Brita news..

Brita did her puzzle today all by herself. I was very impressed.


So was she, apparently. (That's her clapping for herself.)

Toast

Brita's learning to talk. It's so fun. This morning we were eating breakfast and we were both eating toast. She wanted mine, so I was explaining that we each had the same thing.

Here's me:
"It's the same, Brita." (pointing) "Toast." (pointing) "Toast." (pointing) "Mommy's toast." (pointing) "Brita's toast."

Here's Brita:
Looks really confused for a minute and then points to her feet. "Toes?"

She's so funny. Maybe I should learn to enunciate.
