Is it bad that I'm so excited that Brita can recognize what I'm drawing? Brita just asked me to draw a cat and she started meowing before I was even half done. If you knew how badly I draw, you'd be excited too. When I was done with my extremely beautiful cat Brita kept saying, "A cat. A cat."
In other news I completely spaced my doctors appointment today. Completely.

New favorite song
Brita loves to sing. She started singing about a month ago and is great at it. She impresses and amazes us all the time. But this isn't about that.
Tonight the 'Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere' song became her favorite song. This is not that surprising. Brita is a cleaning clone of her Grandma McNabb. To make Brita happy you just hand her a washrag and let her clean a chair. Or tell her that she can put something away. Or let her mop, or sweep. She takes her plate to the sink and helps me wash the dishes. She hates to have her hands dirty and loves to wipe up messes.
She's still a klutz, so at least she got some genes from me, but multiple times a day I'm reminded of just how much of a McNabb that little girl is.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the help--my house would be much worse off without Brita's help, but sometimes I look at me and I look at her and wonder where she came from. And then I remember Grandma.

Digging in the garden
Here's Peter and Brita one Saturday that we spent working in the garden. Peter's an amazing weeder. We might even eventually conquer the bindweed. They were both digging a lot of holes this day.

Don't worry.. the plants in our garden are not actually shrinking (at least not most of them), I'm just catching up on my blogging.

Visitors
A long, long while ago (I'm trying to catch up on posts, give me a break) Melissa and Eliza came to visit. It was so fun to see them. I'd never met Eliza and I hadn't seen Melissa in a year or so. We went shopping and ate pizza and ice cream and played games. Lots of games. It was mighty fun.
Brita LOVED Eliza. She wouldn't go to bed until she had said goodnight to Eliza (she just kept saying her name and trying to go upstairs until we let her). She wanted to hold her and do whatever she was doing. Fun times.

I'm not so sure how Eliza felt about Brita.

In the box, on the ball
A while ago Peter built me four garden boxes. We're currently using two of them. That leaves two others where we store our balls and pots and milk jugs. And the rocks that Brita collects and puts into the pots and milk jugs.
Brita loves to sit in the boxes on the balls. She's usually happiest when she's in the box with the balls sitting on the little basketball while Peter and I are each sitting on the two other basketballs in the box. It's a little box. And I don't think pregnant people were meant to sit on basketballs, especially in boxes where there's no foot room left because there are already two other people in the box. I suppose if I really cared that much I could move the flats and make more foot room, but I guess I don't. It's a good thing that little girl is so much fun.
Here's Brita and Peter looking at the rocks. They're in the milk jug box, but you can see the ball box behind them. :)

I'm joining the ranks of the recipe posters.
I decided to post some recipes so I would have them and you could all enjoy them. I'll just put the links because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't understand the itty bitty scraps of directions that I jot down on my post-it notes to transfer the recipe from my computer to the kitchen. For anyone who's seen one of my recipes, you'll understand.
So here we go.
Hot Pockets. These were seriously good. We made a little extra filling and used it all. I think we ended up with 18 hot pockets total.

Then we have Granola Bars. Way, way yummy. Not really economical, but yummy.

And here's the latest. Mac and Cheese. I've made it a couple times now and it's pretty good.

Here's Brita making the mac and cheese tonight.

(Just in case you didn't notice I have no idea how to make cool links in my blog, although I've been told, and Peter is out of town. Maybe I'll fix it later.)

Push, pull, turn, continued
Push, pull, turn is still going strong in our house--not so much with Monica, who is now working two jobs and we hardly ever see, but with Brita. Just about every day Brita lays down on the floor and waits to be pushed, pulled, and turned. And then of course it's my turn, or whoever else's that's around. Just in case you were dying to see what the process looked like, here's a picture (from back in the day when we saw Monica). :)

I promise I used to be productive
One semester at Ricks I took 28 credits, worked part time, and did a mini internship that made me miss a week of classes. I think I got a 3.8 or 3.9 something that semester. I graduated with an associate's when I was seventeen. I had a bachelor's when I was nineteen. (Never learned to use apostrophes, but I wasn't an English major, alright?) I led my mission in discussions taught. I was in charge of my little part of the warehouse when I was sixteen.
Not really important things, but the point is I used to be able to get things done. What is up with me these days?
I seems like it should be easier to take care of Brita and clean the house and do my projects and take care of Peter and plan my primary lessons and take care of myself.
I used to be able to multi task quite well.
Just so everybody knows that I used to be able to handle life. I did. Really. Maybe someday I'll be able to again. Maybe.
