We stopped at the Baker City Heritage Museum. We were going to go to the Oregon Trail interpretive center, but it is closed for a couple years. It was probably a good thing, because this museum was one of our favorite parts of our trip.
We loved pretty much everything in this crazy museum, which had pretty much everything in it. It's in an old community swimming building, that was just huge. Apparently it's changed a ton in the last few years--I've talked to a couple people who had visited the museum earlier and it was fun to hear about their experiences there. It was well organized when we went, but still very quirky!
The rock collection there was phenomenal.
The black light room. The next two pictures are the same rocks. The first is with a black light and the second just with regular light.
They had so much cool old stuff!
