Tonight the 'Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere' song became her favorite song. This is not that surprising. Brita is a cleaning clone of her Grandma McNabb. To make Brita happy you just hand her a washrag and let her clean a chair. Or tell her that she can put something away. Or let her mop, or sweep. She takes her plate to the sink and helps me wash the dishes. She hates to have her hands dirty and loves to wipe up messes.
She's still a klutz, so at least she got some genes from me, but multiple times a day I'm reminded of just how much of a McNabb that little girl is.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the help--my house would be much worse off without Brita's help, but sometimes I look at me and I look at her and wonder where she came from. And then I remember Grandma.

I need to play songs for Nicholette to learn, what songs are on Britas playlists that you would recommend?
The music on her MP3 player is just a bunch of oldies right now. We're working on getting some kids songs on there, though.
Mostly she just loves to play the piano, so Peter plays her anything she wants (usually from the Children's Songbook) and I play her anything from there with no more than two sharps or flats. I only play one note, which I think helps her to pick up the melody. Every once in a while she'll grab my left hand and put it on the piano, but I think she's mostly given up hope on me learning.
