I'm Five
You only turn five months old once in your lifetime. So, to make this day special for Brita, we made a pineapple upside-down cake. She was so excited she jumped right in and started eating. Hello solid food number four.

Because I love Monica
I was walking down the street and I saw this:

Could it be what I thought it was? I went a little closer.

Indeed it was! A moose with sandwich board propaganda! Lucky for me he agreed to pose for me.

I was going to put on a sandwich board and take a picture for you, Monica, I promise. But on my way to do it I saw a moose on a street corner and I thought it was much better than I could do so I decided to just take a picture of it for you instead.

The Last Days
Yesterday I went to Peter's biology class to take notes for him so he could work on a project. He was at school from midnight to five pm yesterday. Anyways, in biology the teacher said that there was a review session on Wednesday from 2 to 4. Peter has a class at three so I asked him if he had that class on Wednesday. He said he was all done with classes for the whole semester. I had no idea it was so close. HE had no idea it was so close. So there you go. Yesterday was the last day of class and I am so glad. Now there's only finals and another term and we're done with school for a while. Yipee.

Brita's first game of Fluxx
In a pickle
We played "In A Pickle" with Andrew and Karen last Sunday. Karen tried to give it to us, but Andrew wouldn't let her. It was pretty fun, but it made me really obnoxious for hours afterwards as I couldn't stop saying that things were in other things.
In other pickle news, here's Brita eating a pickle.

Brita dislikes the camera
Before she notices a camera is pointed at her, Brita is very cooperative. She'll smile and giggle until the battery runs out (it's a short-life battery). For example,

We managed to get a video of her transitioning from the happy/laughing Brita to the "I'm not smiling until you get that thing away from me kind of Brita":
Hopefully over time she'll become more cooperative. In the meantime, here's another cute picture of the little girl and her Mom.

I need to be rich someday
aka Ode to my personal banker
When I moved to Urbana I opened an account at BankChampaign. It had good interest rates. It had good customer service. I had my own personal banker. If I needed money all I needed to do was call and ask that someone bring it to my home that night. If I needed to make a deposit, I just sent it with my personal banker. It was great. But those days are over now. I've closed my accounts and have a personal banker no more. I hear that if you're rich, you get your own personal banker. I now have an ambition in life.
I love you BankChampaign (you know that means you, Monica).

Below average
Well, Brita is somewhat below average now. She's in the 2nd percentile for weight. She gained a whopping 5 ounces in the last two months. Her height and head circumference doing alright, at least.
