Today I taught the lesson in Relief Society. It was pretty fun. I kind of put off preparing it for a while. I finished my outline in the Mothers' Lounge about two minutes before Sunday School got out. Too bad Sunday school was so interesting today, or I would have been done sooner.
Lots of people made comments. Probably more people wanted to, but I had the kind of blind vision that only teaching a lesson can bring. I think it went okay. It was about scripture study. I kind of have no idea what I said. Several people told me the they appreciated it, so it sounds like the Spirit took over at some point.
I didn't get to make the final remarks that I wanted to, so I'll make them here. In a recent training meeting they were talking about organizing the things you have to do into essential, necessary, good, and on down things to do. When it comes right down to it the essential things are the things that lead us back to Heavenly Father. It doesn't really matter how much time we put into our family here if we aren't doing what we can to make sure we will be part of that eternal family. I don't know if that makes sense, but it was kind of eye opening to me. We really do need to be doing those essential things. That's why they're called essential.
So I guess now I'll only have my rolls to occupy me during Sacrament meeting and Sunday school. Or maybe some day I'll get on top of things and actually have my calling done by the time it's time for church to start.
And that's that. There you go. Now you know I taught a lesson. The end.
