Heidi

My friend Heidi came to visit a while ago. We picked her up from the airport and she spent the night here. This is what she had for dinner.

I keep checking blogs

But nobody's posting.

So I'll tell you about my exciting Sunday. Peter and I gave talks on Sunday. They were about preparing for Conference. They were pretty exciting. We had an instant ward choir too, so Peter sang in that. Brita was not going to let me sing. Then Peter substituted in my Sunbeams class for my co-teacher. It was my first week. I ran out of stuff to say and do after about five minutes. Luckily Peter saved me.

Did I tell you about the day that we were visited by the Stake Presidency, the primary president and the 2nd councilor in the bishopric? That was an exciting day. We felt popular. I might have already mentioned that.

We're going to go to a slew of mission reunions tonight. I have two and Peter has one. Fun times. I really hate mission reunions.

See--that's not so hard. You don't have to post about something exciting, just post something.

Brita needs to shave

... at least that's what it looks like from this picture. She was having fun tonight feeding herself (or at least trying). I don't blame her for wanting to play with the food; it didn't smell very appetizing. Anyway, Brita managed to get her hands, arms, face, hair, clothes and legs covered in banana-berry food. She knows how to get a bath if she wants one.

Visiting Teaching

Brita and I started to go visiting teaching. We were supposed to go this morning, but my companion forgot. She did remember this afternoon, though. My companion is the only person in our ward who home schools her kids. We were walking (because I think Peter has Brita's car seat with him at work)to our first appointment (if you can call it that, because we actually didn't have an appointment) and met one of the people who we were going to visit. She was on her way to go visiting teaching.

I'm so excited, though, because she's the one who I'm taking over the Sunbeams class from and she seemed like a really fun person. And my companion said that she was really neat. And Her daughter is in my class and she has a little boy who seems pretty fun. And she was excited that I'll be her visiting teacher.

Anyway, the other person we were going to visit wasn't home, so we never actually went visiting teaching, but we started to. Maybe we'll get to go for real on Friday.

It takes three

I just wanted to show everyone how incredibly coordinated we are as a family. See the green and the blue and the dots and stuff?
We're good. I know.

If it's not broke..

You know those annoying people that fix things just by being around? Things can be broken for days and then they ask you to show you what is broken and it magically fixes itself. Peter's like that sometimes.

A couple nights ago Brita was having a really hard night. It was about 3:00 in the morning and she wouldn't sleep. She would fall asleep for about 30 seconds and then wake up crying or trying to crawl somewhere. Finally I'd had it, so I woke up Peter and said, "Peter, I need you to watch Brita for me for a little while." Right then she rolled over and fell asleep. Why do I try?

The Moment You've All Been Waiting For

At least you should have been waiting because I've been meaning to post this for over a month now.

Just look at that grout. It's amazing.

When we first moved in it was black. Peter's dad cleaned it. Well, he started out cleaning the floor and then he told us that the grout wasn't really black. It took him two days. Thanks, Dad.

Basement

Well, the Moose decided to make himself useful and touch-up the scratches on our new freezer. Unfortunately no one told him the difference between a drip pan and touch-up paint.

Strange--no one explained the difference to Sears either.

Putting things behind you

Brita spent most of the afternoon putting things behind her. We try not to emotionally scar our baby, but some times you just have to stop and sort things out. Oh, wait, that's not what she was doing. She was just literally putting things behind her. Anything she ran into. And kept putting things in front of her so could do things in the bedroom.
