Box races
The kids were having box races tonight. They were probably inspired by the robotics competition we went to earlier today, which were awesome and everyone should go to sometime because they're great. Anyways, they were racing boxes back and forth between the front and back doors and getting applauded. They decided they needed an announcer so they gave me a flashlight. I commentated a few races, complete with a few injuries, and I have to say, I was doing a fabulous job. Then Benton wanted to be the announcer, so he took the flashlight and and said, "Someone talk loudly. And now, someone talks loudly." Then Brita insisted that it was her turn to talk loudly into the flashlight. My art is under-appreciated.

Maybe that is why I get such a poor response when I'm getting after my kids...I'm just "someone" talking loudly.
Does it make you want to throw out all the toys and invest in various boxes?
Actually most of our toys are upstairs right now in a (most likely vain) attempt to get them organized. I love it when they play with boxes. It makes me feel like maybe there is still imagination in the world.
