Random things about Brita

We have a little girl named Brita. She was born about two and a half weeks ago. I wanted to write down some of the fun things she's done before I forget them all.
Brita is the most patient baby I've ever seen (granted I don't know that many babies, but still). She also has the cutest smile. When she first started smiling Peter almost missed class because he kept watching and making her smile instead of getting ready for school. That was last week. I don't know if she knows that she's smiling, but whenever she does smile it makes my day a lot better.

On the day she was born Peter had to go to class that afternoon. When he was leaving I told her to say goodbye to Daddy. She waved. (Well, she might have just been flailing her arms while I was burping her, but it looked like she waved.) A couple days later we were having prayer before dinner and Peter told her to fold her arms and her arm instantly flung across her body like she was getting ready to fold her arms. We laughed really hard. She's so smart. :)

Peter gave me a blessing a couple days after we came home from the hospital. In it I was told that Brita loved me. I have to say that is one of the most comforting things I've ever heard in a blessing. It's so nice to know that this little girl of mine actually loves me. It makes the frustrating times a lot easier.

She looked at me for the first time today. That makes two and a half weeks (or at least one) where she would look at other people but never me. My mom tried to get her to look at me while she was down here the last time. Brita looked everywhere but at me. Mom finally gave up.

We use cloth diapers some of the time. One day Peter was changing Brita's diaper. Right when she got her new diaper pinned she went again. So Peter changed her again. Right when he was pulling up her plastic pants she went again. So he changed her again. He said that he should stop smiling when he changed her because it was like she thought he enjoyed it so much that she was giving him a special treat by letting him change three diapers all at once. :) At least she didn't go while the diaper was off; she seems to reserve that for me. She hit the dresser from the bed once. I was impressed.

She had her first water filter comment less than 24 hours after she was born. Poor girl... I didn't mean to be mean.

When she had her first bath she clung to Peter's hand like she would never let go. She didn't seem to mind the water all that much though.

She loves it when her daddy plays the piano. It calms her down most of the time. I think she's also a huge fan of the daddy/daughter dance parties that usually happen late at night.

Fun girl.

She looks and sounds adorable. Not that I've heard her make noise - you know what I mean.

She is a seriously cute kid, and everyone at work thinks so, too.
